The Witch and the Hundred Knight Revival Edition LogoWhen the Witch and the Hundred Knight originally released on the PS3, it was an okay action RPG, but it had a few issues holding it back. Now in 2016, the game has received a PS4 port, although the game is still largely the same. And that’s a bit of a missed opportunity, as it could have been better.

One Piece: Burning Blood – Xbox One Review (Also on PlayStation 4)

Posted By Eric Kelly On July 5, 2016 at 4:14 pm Comments Off on One Piece: Burning Blood – Xbox One Review (Also on PlayStation 4)

One Piece Burning Blood LogoIt’s been awhile since there’s been a purely fighting game variant of One Piece. Before, fans had RPG and Dynasty Warriors spin-offs to deal with. But now that the show has been in the public consciousness for a while now in the West, it was time to bring together many of the series best characters for a battle royale. The only problem is that perhaps the game could have stayed in the oven for a bit longer, as it can in fact burn up one’s blood. Just not in a good way.

Quantum Break Review – Xbox One

Posted By Jeff Markiewicz On April 25, 2016 at 1:31 pm Comments Off on Quantum Break Review – Xbox One

Quantum_Break_LogoQuantum Break is a new game from the developers at Remedy Entertainment. If you have been around gaming for a while, chances are you’ll know their work. They created the Max Payne franchise and developed the first two games in the series. After that they made Alan Wake and its downloadable continuation American Nightmare. Each title this team outputs has been successful. Max Payne was so good that it has spawned multiple games and even a movie. Alan Wake had a slow pickup but has grown into a cult classic amongst fans. This studio doesn’t put out games that often but each one has been a quality addition to the industry and if history is any indicator, Quantum Break should be another big hit.

Hyrule Warriors Legends Review – 3DS

Posted By Eric Kelly On April 12, 2016 at 3:40 pm Comments Off on Hyrule Warriors Legends Review – 3DS

N3DS_HyruleWarriorsLegends_logo_smallerHyrule Warriors released on the Wii U back in 2014’s Fall season, and it was a great brawler experience in the Dynasty mold, only with a Zelda wrapper instead of Koei Tecmo’s trademark series. Since the game was a Dynasty Warriors game, many wondered if there would be an eventual Legends edition containing all the DLC and more. About a year later, that answer came in the form of Hyrule Warriors Legends. Only no one was quite ready to hear that it would be a 3DS port. The shift brings some changes that are both welcome and unwelcome, but it’s still a great package, with some caveats.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Review – Wii U

Posted By Eric Kelly On April 7, 2016 at 11:22 am Comments Off on The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Review – Wii U

WiiU_TLoZTwilightPrincessHD_logo_02_png_jpgcopyWhen I first played Twilight Princess, it was back in 2006, about a month after the Wii launched. I actually was knee deep in Okami, which was a much better game despite the obvious Zelda influence. It was also my first Wii game, and I didn’t play the Gamecube version until years later. I’ll be honest and didn’t feel like it was one of the better Zelda games. I did enjoy it, but felt that it was lacking compared to the others, considering their general high level of quality. Now that Tantalus has brought the game to the Wii U as an HD port, I re-examined the game to see if my feelings have changed for the game as well as how well a remastering that they did. I can totally tell you that my opinion has changed for the better, if only slightly. But the port still has some issues that cropped up.

Posted By Eric Kelly On April 7, 2016 at 10:37 am Comments Off on NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM 4 Review – PlayStation 4 (Also on Xbox One and Steam)

NARUTO SHIPPUDEN Ultimate Ninja STORM 4 Logo smallNaruto has had a very long print run as a manga, with the anime version running behind it for not much less. The manga first ran in 1997, with the show airing in 2002, it has about nineteen and 14 years to their respective media to show for it. Now that the series has finally come to an end, the most successful videogame series based on it also must follow suit. While the game doesn’t change much and its budget is lower than previous games, it still manages to go out with a bang.
